4 and 5 Months

Jackson is now five months old. That's right, five months. Time has flown by so fast! We have enjoyed every minute of Jackson being in our lives. He brings us so much joy and we can't imagine life without him.  I wasn't able to do a four month post so I thought I would catch up with a four and five month post.

FOUR MONTHS:

This is Jackson the day he turned 4 months old Aug. 19, 2012
At four moths old Jackson is 24.75 inches tall and weighs in at 15lbs 15oz.  Yes he is a big boy who loves his food lol.  He is now eating rice cereal and although he was a little iffy about it the first try, he loves it!  I can hardly feed it to him fast enough.

Jackson is also holding his head up so good now.  He loves it because he can look around when he is on his tummy and he can see his toys.  He still doesn't like tummy time, but this does seem to make it more barable for him.

Speaking of his toys, Jackson is starting to learn to play with them a little bit.  He mostly just tries to put them in his mouth.  Infact he tries to stick everything is his mouth that he can get a hold of. He will even chew on your arm when you are holding him.
Jackson rolled over for the first time on August 19th, the day he turned four months old.  He looked up at us with a little fear and a lot of confusion and has not even tried to do it again.  I know that once kids become mobile it is harder to keep track of them, but he is getting so restless that I hope he starts rolling over soon.
All ready for church.                                    All ready for bed.

FIVE MONTHS:

Jackson is now five months old. Holy cow! It is so crazy to think that he has already been here five whole months, and yet we cannot even remember life without him.  He is the most amazing boy and brings us so much joy. It is so fun to watch him as he learns and grows and discovers new things. He has been doing a lot of this discovering lately.  He is becoming much more coordinated and is putting everything into his mouth.  He even grabs the spoon from me while I am feeding him his cereal and he shoves it in his mouth and will not let go.  He gets mad at me when I finally take it back from him. He loves his pacifier, but not really to calm him down or pacify him, he plays with it just like a toy.  Whenever we put it in his mouth he takes it out and then tries to figure out how to put it back in on his own.  When he gets it in right I'll tell him good job and say "You did it!" and he smiles so big and gets so proud of himself.  I think he is beginning to discover his voice because he has started yelling in this really high pitch tone and once he gets started he keeps it up for a while.  He has found his ears and likes to play with them while we feed him.  My favorite thing that he has started doing though is giggling.  I have never heard such a wonderful sound in my life! He has the most adorable smile and now he has added the most adorable giggle to it.

I don"t have any video of Jackson actually rolling over because of course he never rolls over when I am trying to record it, but he is starting to learn how to roll over from his back to his stomach.  He has done it a couple of times, but doesn't quite have the hang of it yet.  I am sure he will soon though!

Jackson loves his changing pad.  Whenever we lay him down to change his diaper he starts kicking his legs like crazy.  He puts his arms down to his side and puffs his chest and sticks out his lips and just kicks.  It is so funny and so cute.  He does it even more when he is naked.  After his bath we will put him there to dress him and put his diaper on and he goes crazy! we always let him do it for a couple minutes before getting him dressed.

We went to Utah the first week of September and it was a lot of fun. Jackson loved his cousin Lily and she was so excited to see Jackson again.  She love helping me with Jackson and she loves to be as close to him as physically possible. This meant that we had to keep a very careful eye on the two of them, but it was so cute. She gave him lots of kisses and loved when she got to hold him. It will be so much fun when he is old enough to play with his cousins.

Jackson loves the remote and anything else that he sees mommy and daddy using. Our baby is growing up so fast. He is such a joy to be around and we love every second that we get to spend with him! We love you Jackson.
